THIRD LEMON ALBUM:
Lemon's third album, titled NEDchester, is available on iTunes since 11-1-1. Check it out there, or check the vid of the first track "Personal Revolution" on our YouTube channel. In March '11 it hit Nr. 3 in the NL Indie Chart. Holland’s Nr. 1 Music Magazine OOR wrote: “The best songs on NEDchester are as great as Stone Roses or Happy Mondays…these moments bring a tear to my eye”. Music Magazine FRET: “Lemon create a great groove, colored with a catchy guitar and an infectious bass. A beautiful nostalgic tribute to an exciting musical era.” Festivalinfo.nl 4 stars out of 5. “Lemon has a unique sound of its own” LiveXS: "NEDchester is a very pleasant trip, that will definitely arouse nostalgic feelings with some." Kindamuzik.net: “Vital Poldergroove.” Newspaper De Stem: “NEDchester is great stuff. Lemon create exactly the sound that Primal Scream, Stone Roses and Happy Mondays did in their best days of the MADchester wave. On top of that they simply write great songs. Surf's up for Lemon!” We are proud as a Peacock:)
SECOND LEMON ALBUM:
Lemon's second CD, titled "Hey... since we're not rich and famous we'd appreciate it very much if you choose to pay for our music. If you download it for free, could you do us the favour to spread it to all your friends? Respect!" was released February 2006. Check the LISTEN UP!-page. Send us an email and buy it for 10 Euros. Or buy the songs for 0,80 Euro each via www.legaldownload.nl. April 2006 the album reached the number 8 position in the Lowlands Top25. Music Magazine MusicMaker wrote "Lemon's work payed off. The energy sparks off the disc". Holland's number 1 Music Magazine OOR wrote "Again the guys from Amsterdam sound as if they grew up with Northern Soul. Songs like Saturday Morning in Town sound truly amazing".
OTHERS ON LEMON:
Fred Siebelink (Radio 3FM): Great CD, Lemon Giel Beelen (Radio 3FM): You really sound good, no kiddin Mark Stakenburg (Radio 3FM): 'For the second time on Leidsekade Live! en they made some giant steps ahead. Intelligent music and great production. My compliments.' Arjen Grolleman (Radio Kink FM): This is something special, Im impressed Allison Migliore (Hard Rock Cafe): The audience really liked you. Youre the best we had so far Music Magazine FRET: A surprising CD, Inspired songs with a distinctive sound Music Magazine Opscene: The last songs on the CD remind me of the best days of Madchester Rockete.com: Catchy hooks and a mix of modern beats and rock melodies reminiscent of the past make this CD a release to appease the masses
LEMON ON LEMON:
Mark: Stone Roses the next generation, The Verve with some dance influences, Kasabian-ish, !!!-ish, Talking Head-ish, Smashing Pumpkins in a good mood, Happy Mondays but with a little rock added to it. Something like that, more or less, but not quite. Paul: To me the crowded concert when we supported The Charlatans in De Melkweg (Amsterdam) was the best so far. On the other hand: the aftershow for Primal Scream at Paradiso Amsterdam, Club Arena, Tivoli, Luxor, Woodstock at the beach and of course the live appearances at the 3 FM studios and Kink FM studios were not bad either. Ralf: Nothing comes close to playing a new song as it was meant to be for the first time.
